Special Occasions

We can make those special occasions even more special. Let us know if you need something special in the room for your arrival. We can pick up flowers or refreshments to make the night extra special. Full sit down breakfast in the morning. We can also deliver a carafe of coffee at your door in the morning. Give us a call and let us know your desire. No problem to bring in dinner and just relax in peace. We generally join our guests for breakfast. The conversation is usually lively, warm and enjoyable.   Drinks and snacks are always available to tide you over until dinner!  There are several great dining choices in town and in Ann Arbor.  Many people plan dinner at the Common Grill, a four star restaurant.

Things To Do In The Chelsea Area

We have a large scrapbook, full of ideas and here are a few: Take a tour at Jiffy Mix, Visit the Saturday Farmers Market in Ann Arbor, Visit the Hands On Museum in Ann Arbor or the Art Gallery in town here in Chelsea or Ann Arbor. Go antique shopping in Manchester, Chelsea or Stockbridge, Go hiking and Bog watching in Waterloo Recreation Area, go canoeing on the Raisin or Huron Rivers, go biking in this lovely country setting, go on the Southeast Michigan Wine Tasting Tour, Visit the Deer Museum, go antique shopping in Ann Arbor, Manchester, Stockbridge or Jackson, lots of places to play golf in the area, go fishing or bird watching (sand hill cranes) on one of the many lakes, go fishing at the Trout Farm, pick berries, visit the Discovery Center in Waterloo Recreation Area, go to one of the many Fall festivals in the area. Sit out on the deck or by the fire and just read a book and enjoy the quiet! We also host game and scrapping weekend getaways. Catch a movie on the big screen T.V. (We keep many new titles in the DVD library). Go on the Pioneer Wine Trail tasting tour and visit the many local wineries. Tasting is free at these wineries and the wines are supurb!  There is a new Mexican restaurant in town in the Clocktower complex, called Las Fuentes.  There is also a new restaurant at the Hockey Arena.  The Chelsea Grill is still being renovated (may open by the end of the year).  The Common Grill is as popular as ever and always has some new specials.  Keep in mind that the Common Grill is closed on Monday's.

Why Waterloo Gardens

In our Guest Lake to Lake Evaluation Surveys, some of our guests wrote: "Comfortable, clean and well equiped." What did you like best about this B & B? Sally from Fenton writes: "Comfort and proximity to many interesting things to do" and about the breakfast: Fantastic, everything anyone could want, and very well prepared. James from Fairfax, VA writes: "the guest rooms were very clean, very comfortable." "Great, would recommend Waterloo Gardens to anyone." Christine from Harsens Island, MI writes: Gary and Lourdean were wonderful. They made you feel like family instead of a stranger that you just met. They not only opened their home but also their hearts to us, and Boomer and Jessie were great too!" "Very beautiful grounds. Quiet. Very clean. Great hosts & breakfasts. Great Hot Tub! Wonderful location and the Peach French Toast was out of this world." Shirley from Ft Myers, Fl writes: "Breakfasts were terrific! Snacks and drinks available at no charge. Comfortable bed. Everything was clean."  We are inspected by the Lake to Lake Bed and Breakfast Association.

Purple Rose Update:  The Purple Rose Theatre Company presents "Escanaba."  This is a Jeff Daniels original comedy and a world premiere show.  This Jeff Daniels play is the third in the Escanaba trilogy and takes us back to the begining.  It is the prequal to "Escanaba in da Moonlight. Alphonse Soady is putting the finishing touches on his newly-constructed deer camp when a wild eyed James Nagamanee bursts through the door fleeing a black bear.  This story reveals the role this strange trespasser plays in time honored Soady Deer Camp traditions."  Tickets are $ 25 - $38.  The play opens on September 17th and runs through December 19th.   Performances are at 8:00 p.m.Wed - Sat with matinees on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. and Sunday at 2:00 p.m.  Call 734-433-7673 to book your tickets and check on availability.  This play will be very popular.  Website: www.purplerosetheatre.org

Availability:  We have availability for many weekend days through December, including some Michigan home game weekends.   Weekdays are generally available.  We still have some availability for many weekends through the Fall.  We welcome last minute reservations but don't always check email during the day so please call.  Call 877-433-1612 or 734-502-6195 (Gary or Lourdean).
